In Chrome, moving mouse drags the image

michael clarage 6 years ago updated by Deborah Baines 4 years ago 8

I am having browser functionality problems.

In Chrome, I cannot keep my image in place, because whenever I drag the mouse over the screen, the image pans as if I had the mouse clicked. So I cannot save my desired image.

In IE the dragging mouse does not pan the image, but the screenshot function does not work, no file is saved.

Dear Anthony,

Thanks for the feedback. We're looking into this (it's a complicated set up to test!) and will get back to you after the holiday period.

Kind regards,

Deborah, on behalf of the ESASky team

I've just hit this problem in Chrome 68 on Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS). Guess it's still neither fixed nor documented?

I have a laptop with a touchscreen and 2 external monitors, trying to use ESA Sky on one of the external monitors (not a touchscreen) but every time my mouse pointer enters the browser window it pans the image. Worse, there's no way for me to disable my touchscreen to work around the issue. Not without editing X.Org config files, anyway.

Hi Michael! Good, that sounds indeed like an easy solution.. 8) We will document it for future users..

I just realized, the simplest solution is for me to disable the touch screen. No problem. Fixed.

thanks, we will look into this urgently and hopefully we can fix it soon.

yes, I think the touch screen is the problem. When I tried on another computer no problem. Too bad. The touch screen is the large screen :(

I tried on IE, Chrome, Firefox - same problem.

Thanks Michael!

I presume you are using a surface touch-like laptop, right? Could you please tell us also the version of the operative system and of the two browsers you mention? Do you have any other browser you could try it with, like e.g. Firefox?

Thanks in advance
