Uploading user tables

sansari 1 year ago updated by Deborah Baines 1 year ago 3

It would really be great, if we can upload our own user tables to use beside the catalogues that are available online. It would significantly speed up the work of surveying ESA Sky for specific types of objects. This is particularly useful for those of us that are working on Gaia objects.

Hi,

Yes, we plan on supporting VOTable uploads as well.

We'll let you know when this is available!

Kind regards,

Debbie

Dear User,

It is possible to upload a user table via the target lists feature: in Science mode click on the scroll icon in the search field (in Explorer mode, there is also a dedicated icon in the top left). Then select 'Upload Target List' and load your list of targets (either names that can be resolved by Simbad, or a list of coordinates). Each target will show as a green square and you can scroll or play through your list. Help on the feature can be found here: https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/esdc/esasky-interface#list

The format needed to display uploaded target lists, and some examples, can be found here: Target lists - ESDC - Cosmos (esa.int)

And next year we are planning to add user areas to ESASky, where you'll be able to upload and save your own user tables.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Kind regards,

Debbie, on behalf of the ESASky team

Great! That sounds really good that you will be including a user space, which would make work with ESASky a lot easier. I assume you will support VOT uploads as well? Thanks
