Default views

Default view for each wavelength should be the most representative/appealing.

eg. right now if you switch to Radio you get a white blob, pictured below. Until you switch color palette into Native - it stays as a blob. That's super-confusing.

I'd also recommend changing color palette into a drop-down, cause UX-wise it's weird to have 2 selectors in drop-downs and a third one hidden under a button. Initially I thought it's just an icon to signify that a different "select a sky" drop-down will have a different color palletes...

SAMP?

Stéphane Erard 6 years ago updated by Deborah Baines 5 years ago 3

Hello

I've just tested the search capacities for solar system images. They are very nice in the interface, however I can't send selected images to Aladin (or ImageJ, with plugin) via SAMP - the image arrive in the application, but is not plotted ("repaint" error message in Aladin).  Am I missing something?

download of Chandra FITS files is not working

Becky Brown 6 years ago updated 6 years ago 3

Hi ESASky team,

I am trying to download FITS files from Chandra imaging observations of M88 and I get a file called chaser_ftp_retrieve_file.cgi instead of the FITS file I expected. I think this used to work in the earlier version..

Thanks in advance if you can fix it ..

"Explore observations for this region" does not work if the object is not in the center of the image FOV

Nora Loiseau 6 years ago updated by Deborah Baines 4 years ago 4

Example:

Search: NGC6221, click on "Explore observations for this region". The XMM observations are not shown until one expands the FoV up to about 24' , which is the 2xdistance from NGC 6221 to the center of the XMM observations (e.g. 0690580101)

Would it be possible to have access to the Chandra spectral products as well as to the XMM-Newton spectral products?

Filtering the publications does not update the symbols on image

Becky Brown 6 years ago updated by Deborah Baines 6 years ago 3

I tried looking for publications on a crowded region like e.g. M31, and when I filtered the list of publications by e.g. journal, I got just 6 publications, but the number of academic hats in the display were not modified, while I would have expected that, just like with the observation footprints, only those objects from the filtered observations would have remained.. Is it possible to do that?
