Dear Bruno,
I'm glad it's working for you now. The share link should always have the HST image name in the URL, as it does in the link you sent '&hst_image=heic2205a'.
We'll investigate if we can find any issue a few days ago.
Many thanks,
Debbie
Dear Bruno,
Thanks for telling us about the bug. This feature is working for me, therefore could you tell us the HST image that wasn't being shared? And any other details that may help.
Best regards,
Debbie
Dear Peter,
It's been a long time since your first suggestion (you did say for the long term :-) ), and as you know, we're happy to say that we've started this effort to add multi-messenger events in ESASky, starting with Gravitational Waves and Neutrino events. Our first automatic notifications from GCN happened this month from two IceCube Neutrino events, with the events being added to ESASky less than 1 minute after being reported in GCN notices.
Our next steps are to add other types of multi-messenger events, including gamma-ray bursts.
More information on the multi-messenger feature in ESASky can be found here: https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/esdc/esasky-interface#MultiM
Many thanks for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Debbie on behalf of the ESASky team
Dear Belen,
The last version of ESASky, v4.1, now has the option to search for data within a cone, box or polygon. See here for details: https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/esdc/esasky-interface#search.
And, also related to your suggestion, it is also possible to select already loaded data that fall within a circle, box or polygon. See here for more details: https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/esdc/esasky-interface#seltool
and also see this video:
Many thanks for your suggestions!
Kind regards,
Debbie
Hi, for your question regarding searching for types of objects, that indeed is not possible currently in ESASky. We have been asked this before and are looking at possible options. Currently, you'd need to know a catalogue/table to use to search for a particular type of object, or to create your own list and load it up in ESASky using the 'Manage list of targets' icon in the search field (and in explorer mode, the 3rd icon on the left). We do also have curated lists of some types of objects (also in Manage list of targets), but these are only a small sample.
Kind regards,
Debbie
Dear Millennium Twain,
Many thanks for your suggestion, it is indeed a very good idea to make the identification of objects far easier for our ESASky users. Currently it's not so obvious, you right click and select one of the name resolvers (SIMBAD or NED), but these are mainly used by professional astronomers and therefore are not necessarily known by all our users.
We will add your suggestion to our backlog list and let you know when it is available.
And many thanks for sharing your tweet in twitter!
Best regards,
Debbie, on behalf of the ESASky team
Dear Nico,
Many thanks for getting in contact with us. The team has experience in embedding the ESASky Javascript API in Angular and in GWT but unfortunately not yet with ReactJS, and we don't know of another team that has tried this. We will be very happy to help you, therefore we'll contact you via email for further correspondence.
In the meantime, I'm sure you've tried the examples in the ESASky API documentation?: https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/esdc/esasky-javascript-api
Your portal to ASTRON data sounds very exciting and thanks for considering ESASky!
Best regards,
Debbie, on behalf of the ESASky team
