Hi Andy,
Indeed, that is an oversight from our side. I'll try to squeeze in some more digits for next week's release.
Thanks for notifying us about issues like this!

Hi Andy,
Aha! I was concerned that you had encountered some area where the tiny patch we deployed on September 28th to handle problematic Chandra footprints did not work. Probably you were just using a prior version of ESASky.
In most cases, there are no problems with having ESASky running for a very long time. The resources consumed by ESASky while the tab is not selected are very small. Of course, as with any software system, it is wise to restart now and then, especially when the software is continuously evolving. If there is a new release for example, the files you are using may not be 100% compatible with the new server and database.
Cheers,
Henrik
Hi Andy,
Thanks again for informing us about this issue. I am not able to reproduce this, could you please share some more information to help us track is issue down. Most interesting would be the position and fov where this occurs, but which browser and operating system you are running could also be of interest.

Dear Oleg,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Indeed, this is a very confusing behavior, which needs to be addressed. I'll make sure this is improved in our upcoming 3.5 release.
Thanks again,
Henrik Norman

Dear Philip,
Indeed, there seem to be problems pasting into the search window via these two routes:
- right click -> paste
- touch hold -> paste
We'll fix this in the next release of ESASky.
However, I am still able to paste using the keyboard command: Ctrl + V on my Windows machine
If you are using a Mac, you should be able to use the Cmd(⌘) + V
Please let us know if this works for you.
Best Regards,
Henrik

Dear Jareel,
Thank you for reporting these issues. The white screen is definitely not a feature. However, I’m not able to reproduce the problem on my Firefox 67.0.4 (Windows 10).
Would you mind disabling all firefox add-ons and trying again? If the issue persists, please try an incognito window (also with no add-ons).
Thanks,
Henrik on behalf of the ESASky team

Hi Fabian,
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll look into adding this functionality via the URL parameters.
For now, ESASky only allows overlays to be added via the JavaScript API. To be able to use the JavaScript API, you also have to embed ESASky in an iframe instead of a link, which may not be a perfect solution for you.
